Patellar Tendinitis

Demographic and clinical details: 28-years -old female radiology resident, admitted with pain in distal insertion of patellar tendon. .

Image Details: US image shows slight decrease in echogenicity of distal patellar tendon with surrounding edema-fluid like hypo echogenicity. Doppler images shows the neovascularization in-around the patellar tendon suggesting the diagnosis of patellar tendinitis. MR images shows the increased signal intensity in-around patellar tendon. T2 mapping image shows the increased T2 times in these areas.

Patient’s symptoms resolved after using topical and oral NSAID treatment.
